Gunfire hits 2 Lee sheriff's K-9 unit cars with dogs inside

Two Lee County Sheriff's Office K-9 unit vehicles and one civilian vehicle were hit by gunshots early this evening, the Lee County Sheriff's Office reports. No one was injured during the shootings. Full story »

Breast Cancer Awareness Month: Cancer survivor shares her story

Maria Chapa knew something ailed her body. She felt pain in her breasts. One of her aunt’s died in February from breast cancer. Another aunt, in her 60s now, has battled it on and off for more than a dozen years. “I’m scared,” Chapa says sitting on a beige leather sofa dressed in a pink sweater and a white eyelet skirt. She’s headed to church with her husband, Isaac Hernandez, also dressed in a pink shirt. Full story »
